http://httpd.apache.org/docs/howto/htaccess.html#when suggests that .htaccess files are a bad idea for this. Anyway, Adding a directory public_html/www-user/help () and adding a file .htaccess containing the above command and then trying to access it through: http://www.devel.lyx.org/~leeming/www-user/help/ results in You don't have permission to access /~leeming/www-user/help/ on this server. -- Angus
