Thanks! I understood it this way. This was not meant as any criticism.
 Just as a suggestion for people who face problems with importing 
LaTeX in Lyx qt 1.3.5

I see that I have now tex2lyx -f $$i $$o

I don't know why I changed it. I am using it quite a lot at the
moment and I am less concerned with programming than with getting my 
manuscripts ready. I simply thought that it may be useful for others
who face similar problems if this is put on the list. Maybe the user 
list is more appropriate.

No problems, but a suggestions: It would be good to convert Latex
umlaute like \"{a} directly to ä (a Umlaut) etc. Otherwise one has to
use sed, or an involved search and replace, and normal users would not 
like that, as they are concerned with their manuscripts.

Thank you for the latex->lyx conversion. This is absolutely essential.
Most journals and most co-authors require or use LaTeX rather
than Lyx.
