A simple workaround until that is fixed properly: export LANG=de_DE lyx The default setting of LANG is something like [EMAIL PROTECTED] here. Of course you may also reset some LC_* variables if they are set, but you get the idea. Console messages are wrong then, but this is not as annoying as wrong inset titles etc. Georg
