I did some research about the crash in handleCompletedProcesses(); see Bugzilla for complete results.
I think the culprit is the call to sync_events() in LyXView::showCursor(). The
comment says that it is needed for hiding the cursor correctly, but I commented
this line out and I couldn't see any difference, except that there were no crashes
any more. John?
