Apologies for the delay. I guess my mailer defaults to octet-stream for types it doesn't know about, and I'm not yet aware how to extend it. So I'll resend in gzip which I assume will be acceptable and that I'm pretty sure will appear as application/x-gzip. Thanks Rob
