Well, actually it would also work with "(man gv | grep -e --swap)", then it would only require a correctly set MANPATH ;-)

grep -- --swap $(which gv) probably does not count as competitor in this area, does it?

Of, course, even a strong one, since it doesn't need a correct MANPATH :-)


I'd throw in an extra "-q" switch for grep.
