It is even more strange. If I run it from inside gdb it works. If I call it directly from the command line it works as well, if then I use the menu it works. Strange. What is strange and I noticed in the last situation is that the call from the menu shows the system-wide Users Guide, this is the version installed in /usr/share/lyx/.... IMO this is wrong as I'm running lyx from the compile directory (FWIW also the source directory as well), so it should use the installed documentation... -- José Abílio
