I agree that the help is wrong, however, I would propose to just get rid of these options and use the pspell.m4 from 1.4.0cvs directly instead.
Yes, sounds reasonable. IIRC, pspell support has been replaced by aspell support in LyX 1.4.0. That would make sense as well.
Are there reasons why you want to use these options? What's wrong with --with-extra-(lib|inc|prefix) ?
Hmmm. Good question. LyX couldn't find pspell, so I looked for a suitable option. I will try --with-extra-lib/include ....
