This is just a status report. No action needed ;-) I have two patches for the 1.3.x tree:
* The attached patch is just a re-packaging of a number of other, smaller
patches that I've posted to the list before. I describe these again below.
* I have one other patch for the 1.3.x tree that I have also posted earlier
and so am not attaching here, placeholders_13x.diff:
Define converters as "python $$s/scripts/lyxpreview2ppm.py"
Jean-Marc has said he's happy with the idea (just a back-porting of code in
the 1.4.x tree) but has yet to consider the code itself.
Returning to the contents of the attached patch. It contains
cygwin_fix_13x.diff
Kayvan's solution to the problem of whether Cygwin or native Windows-style
paths should be exported.
prepend_path_13x.diff
Enable the user to modify the PATH environment variable.
string_lit_13x.diff
The fix to the "string lit" == "some other string lit" problem thrown up by
MSVC. It's been noted that this solution isn't optimal, but that it's OK
for 1.3.x.
scripts_13x.diff
Invoke lyx2lyx as "python <path to>/lyx2lyx" and
TeXFiles.sh as "sh <path to>/TeXFiles.sh"
temp_dir_13x.diff
Exit LyX if we're unable to create the LyX tempdir (/tmp/lyx_tmpdirXXX).
Jean-Marc has stated at various occassions that all of the above were fine
to apply to the 1.3.x tree. I was just waiting for the problems Kayvan was
having with LyX 1.4.x to be resolved. That now seems to be the case, so I
reckon we're ready to rock.
I'll probably apply the patch this evening.
