1. These things aren't *essential*. I can still edit my LyX file, I just can't generate printable output. 2. Such a warning message will require some communication mechanism to be created between the configure script and LyX. Presumably a file generated by configure containing the results of things that it has found and failed to find. This file could then be read by LyX and acted on accordingly. However, I think that's beyond the scope of the present patch. Try out the latest and greatest version that I posted to you "[PATCH 14x] try 2 at prepending elements to PATH". It should address your previous problem. -- Angus
