I am not sure I agree.

Btw: I wouldn't mind if somebody with knowledge of the 'old core' 
would try to make LCursor::getFont() do the Right Thing, preferably
without using too much of the LyXText::real_current_font, and
without using any of the 'owner*' stuff.

The necessary information should be there using the cursor as dociterator
we have direct access to any of the parents.
