This should be fixed in the installer, or the LyX/Mac application could be a drag & drop.
Are you sure? The installer currently has this in its Info.plist file:
<key>IFPkgFlagOverwritePermissions</key>
<false/>That should prevent this, and when I reinstall on my system I don't get any changes of owner/permissions on /Applications. (Was that, perhaps, a defect of an earlier installer that is now fixed?)
