Do you really need an installer for the LyX part? What useful work does it do versus just moving the app to /Applications?
It cleans some things up: removes the old Start-Lyx application, removes old fonts from ~/Library/Fonts, and cleans up preference files. (These are things that should be done even if users don't want to install the TeX related stuff for preview and reverse dvi
Actually, this clean-up is only needed for upgrades from pre-1.3.4 versions of LyX/Mac. Since those upgrades also need to run the special upgrade script available on the wiki, I wonder why this clean-up isn't part of that script.
A new install of LyX/Mac-1.3.5 or an upgrade from 1.3.4 needs only to move LyX.app to the desired location. (+ the TeX preview and reverse DVI stuff for new installs.)
