Your code has been in the source base for a week. I spent a little 
time getting the UI to work by hooking up your form_preferences.fd 
changes to FormPreferences.C but the original patch was essentially 
fine. Thanks for that. (I added a Qt frontend too.) 

So, I'm a little confused by your comments above. Perhaps you don't 
realize that your contribution is already in the CVS tree?

One USER, Martin, has a desire to pass the document language 
to xindy. The discussions were essentially a to-and-fro of "How do I 
do X?" "By doing this ... and that ..." His code is also now in CVS.

Two other USERs, Juergen and Jean-Marc, are interested in having the 
ability to choose an index style file. Hence their discussions.

That's the nature of Open Source development. There is no grand plan. 
It's all just "I want this" and "I want that" that provides the 
motivation to get stuff done.
