I take it that all you're doing is using the same mechanism as is used by the sockets to inform the core that there's something in the pipe? Thereafter, it's still up the lyxserver to read whatever it is that is in the pipe. If that's the case, then it sounds like an intelligent thing to do. Good on ya! -- Angus
