Dear listmembers,
maybe this is a very old topic I am rising here - but propbably I ran into 
some misconfiguring.
When configuring lyx, I say:
"Format" -> "Einstellungen Dokument" -> 
"Dokumentenklasse:" "article"
"Optionen:" ""
"Seiten-Stil:" "default"
"Schrift & Größe:" "helvet" "12"
"Zeilenabstand:" "Einfach"

Sorry for the German text, but I have a "German" system. Now I start writing. 
The text typed is *not* Helvetica, but Times. The text shown in the dvi is 
*not* Helvetica but Times.
Now: did I some misconfiguration? How do I make lyx use the configuration 
settings - and I would expect the writing to be Helvetica if I do configure 
it this way!

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)
