Hello list members, I subscribed to this list a few days ago and before I start posting I thought I would introduce myself:
I am a long-term LaTeX and LyX user - I first used LaTeX around 1988 for my papers in Computer Graphics: http://www.karakas-online.de/myWork/computer_graphics.html and my master's thesis on Neural Networks: http://www.karakas-online.de/myWork/x425.html Currently, I am using LyX both professionally and privately in a document production process that I call "LyX-to-X". I write in LyX, export the document to DocBook SGML, correct that SGML with sed and awk scripts, then use Openjade, pdfjadetex, jadetex & Co. to produce HTML, PDF, PS, TXT and even RTF, with all the bells and whistles - images, index, mathematics, bibliographic databases etc. The process is described in: http://www.karakas-online.de/mySGML/ In the following days I will start some threads to discuss what in my eyes needs to be done in LyX in order to make the above process smoother. Please refer to the above document for details, if something appears unclear. It is a 200 page document that describes a dozen scripts I wrote, so I have done my homework. ;-) That's all for now, I look forward to fruitful discussions.
