I just tried on SuSE 9.0 with packages: glibc-2.3.2-88 xforms-1.0-137 and on 8.2 with packages: glibc-2.3.2-6 xforms-1.0-34 Both show the same behaviour that Jürgen has: export LC_NUMERIC=C works, and it does not work without it. Georg
