Hello lyx developers, i have a feature request which i would like to discuss here to improve lyx further. One thing first, i only know 1.3.3 and not the cvs version(s) (only what i read on lyx-devel), so maybe this is fixed already. But anyway:
I have the idea that the current document font selection could be changed from the simple combobox to several ones, one for each rm, tt, sf (and maybe math). The current solution "violates" l2tabu as using times.sty and palatino.sty is depreciated. One problem I see is that some sty files set only one of theses fonts (courier or luximono set tt), other set two (mathpazo sets rm and math) while other (as lmodern) set all of them. i have no clear idea yet how to solve that, maybe selecting e.g. mathpazo in the rm box would change the content of the math box as well to mathpazo and so on.
