Don't worry about it. I'm not that thin-skinned, I just thought it was
descriptive (and I agree it's an atrocious hack whose only purpose
is to disable the path-translation code).

Sounds fine. Meanwhile, my hack will enable me to run the latest
CVS on Cygwin (which I refresh every day). I have written 3 papers
for my University class using LyX and have gotten A+ grades on all of
them using CVS LyX!
