My book "Algoritmer og datastrukturer" is now printed!
(A book on algorithms, in Norwegian)

Lyx is great for writing books, when the publisher
wants a pdf for printing.

I ended up learning a lot of latex and write my own
layout file (heavily adapted koma-script book)
to get the style they wanted. This is the one
area where Lyx has problems - you can write in
a nice structured way, but there is no easy way
to set up a particular style. Try using
10.5pt text and a set of font files provided by
the publisher, and a list of which text elements have
what sizes and fonts. Still, this difficult setup is a one-time
job independent of manuscript size. Lyx was great
for the writing part, which was most of the work.
288 pages and no crashes. :-)
