The difference could be explained with: It's more Customizable, more
flexible than g-brief.

The old g-brief-style is a little easier to handle. But the author said, 
he wont maintain the old style anymore. He will only provide bugfixes.

There are not compatible. You cant convert an old g-brief document to the
new one without loosing all settings.
But I couldn't find any note for g-brief in The User/Extended Guides ?
There we recommend letter and din-brief for writing letters. g-brief looks
much nicer so some notes in the documentation would be usefull.

I changed the example/template .lyx files again. Inserted a note pointing
the user to the Latex-Preamble for more customization
