Every header file should be able to be compiled on its own. I do have a script to check that. Doing so (after updating my tree with your changes), I had to add <string> to these files only. WordLangTuple.h frontends/Menubar.h frontends/qt2/QDocument.h frontends/qt2/qlkey.h mathed/math_gridinfo.h -- Angus
