André, this strikes me as a rather fragile fix. If you're saying that
augmentFont actually resets the font, then shouldn't the
font = LyXFont();
be the first line of the function augmentFont itself? Which would
also suggest that the function should be renamed.
Not that I know anything about this part of the source...
