Thanks for the positive feedback...I find it a bit surprising that something like this has not been implemented before in any software other than powerpoint (to my knowledge).

I beg to differ.. I think it's a feature that might be used quite frequently by students writing theses.. very often, one has to restructure the document and shift the sections and subsections around based on comments from one's advisor(s) or committee members.. so it's definitely a useful feature... and plus, if this were implemented, then one would also be able to move slides around (in any of the slide layouts) just like in PPT... would be very cool!
