back from the mist of time here I am. ;-)
I got the lyx sources from 0.7p4d3 until 0.12.x
Does anyone knows where I can find even earlier sources, from 0.5 and 0.6?
Next step, compile and run them using xforms 1.0. Since my interest is the
stable branche (because of lyx2lyx) I chose one version to represent each. I
fixed all the calls to xforms and got all versions working. Really. :-)
(the next tables is best viewed with fixed fonts)
Next follows the compile times:

What other measures would be nice to have? How to get them?
The code is filled with lots of holes, almost all occurences of delete are
wrong, most of them should be delete []. Lars how did you allowed such code
to be in? ;-)
The xforms api was remarkly stable since 0.75 (the first version used in lyx)
until 1.0. I am searching for the changes that ocurred between 0.81 and 0.86
to see if that is responsible for the shacky behaviour of the old lyx
versions. Sometimes it is possible to crash lyx just by moving the window
around, else is stable enough.
