Why not, as long as the Makefile installs things correctly.

Note that if you begin to touch at how languages are organized, you
will have to modify i18nLibFileSearch and _all_ code that uses that
will be affected, in particular the bind files in lib/bind. So you
will have to fix this too.

As far as I know, the help files are not used anymore (am I wrong,
someone?). They should maybe be removed (double check first).

Historical reason, probably. The real question is probably is is the
lyxdoc module not part of the main lyx-devel :)
