Ah, thanks. Indeed there is actually the FreeBSD port "gtk--2". So that must
solve the config problem for FreeBSD, I hope.

Allow me, though, to be confused why gtk 'minus minus' is the extension for
C 'plus plus' !?! A kind of gtk humor?
