Ok: There are seemingly only workWidth()/getMaxWidth() related issues there. These are trivially fixed by passing the workwidth down in phase one and full redraw. The current code is hard to understand - let alone to fix. It is completely unneeded for the proposed solution. So I won't waste further time trying to understand it or to produce a "minimal" patch that does not break anything. There is a ditch before us. You tell me not to jump but to take a few miles detour.
