rephrasing: I got that xforms you supplied that didn't need autoconf. configured and installed perfectly. Then I ran the configure script for lyx. which seems to have "X11/forms.h" hardcoded in there. So... I have to rerun autoconf over that LyX sourcetree to generate a new configure script before trying to run it? So that it will then have the proper path supplied. Hope I get it right now ;) Guess I do., because it just worked a few minutes back :D Still going down badly on the c++ code though Steffen M. Boelaars
