Not exactly, because the empty line cleanup can be done at edit time, not at cursor moving time. But I agree that we have some DEPM nightmare coming back (that would _not_ be avoided even with the h.cursor way). One more thing with your patch, it seems that DESM is not working completely ok, I can generate a space at the start of a paragraph.
