But tested with small memory (42MB running KDE) and
after some use of lyx and other resources (ie, giving time to the OS to
swap and stuff) calling inverse search would take 1.5 sec, and use swap.
The in normal operation (256MB) my Duron 800 take 0.2 sec to call
lyx -client.

Using a shell script

to perform client action is definitely faster under such circumstances.
