I've already explained this. It's so things work with the original libpspell AND the new libaspell (the latter via libpspell compatibility layer). By all means make an aspell.C that uses libaspell only but we still need support for the old libpspell. Lars since you started messing around with this, you should realise there is no reasonable way to start debugging this other than installing several of the different versions and seeing how it works ... john
