How to reproduce: Create a bulleted list, such as
* one * two * three Mark "one" (start from the beginning of the bulleted paragraph) and press the tex button. You'll get an ERT containing "* one" instead of just "one" as expected. The "*" is useless and seems to come from the screen representation of bullet list items. Helge Hafting
