It's probably equivalent in practice as long as you don't accidentally close the master/root document first. Ok, I'm for it, but would this function only work from the master document, or from any of the children as well? Is there a terminology in Lyx for this: root/leaves master/slave, parent/children Can a parent buffer have a parent, i.e. recursive inclusion? Are there any defined relationsships/dependancies between buffers in LyX? How does it work when I compile a parent document and the child buffers are modified? Urgh... as JMarc wrote, it's much easier to implement close all... Speaking of implementation, I'm in the final stages of my thesis now (hoping to send it for printing in a few weeks), so I'll avoid programming a little while more. But it does remind me, is there any document that describes the overall structure of the lyx code? /C -- Christian Ridderström http://www.md.kth.se/~chr
