I'm surprised that noone has mentioned the _existing_ shortcut creation tool which is included in the source tree at: development/tools/scgen.pl Such tools are good for initial creation of a dialog but as others have pointed out they are likely to change allocations once a dialog has been reordered (for tab ordering purposes) or extended.
