ummm. See pref_de2.png which was produced with this compensate thing. Pretty ugly, no? As it appears that my hack to get the labels to fit on the tabs is still needed (cf pref_de1.png), I don't think that fdesign -compensate gives us anything that we can't sort out ourselves. Angus
