Was for me =) But yeah I worked it out. Probably shouldn't have
"Ok/Apply/Cancel" but instead just "Close", IMHO.

I would then keep it open for as long as I wanted it, or insert a couple
of things and close.

Yup. Into a four-line set of equations. Looked brilliant on screen, but
the DVI was just plain-old bracket characters. Could I be missing fonts?
I'm in the middle of fixing a problem with some math symbols, but the
problem is that they are missing in the lyx buffer view, not that they
are missing in view-DVI.

I just ran the latest build of the CVS tree on my document I saved this
morning, got this warning on the console (hope it's related):

--------8<----------8<---------8<----------
Line ~0: Math parse error: found '}' unexpectedly

Tokens: \def\doteq[{,1]\stackrel[{,1]\cdot[},2][{,1]\=[},2] <#> [},2]

Received unhandled X11 event

--------8<----------8<---------8<----------

BTW what is that X event? Everyone seems to quote it at the beginning of
a dump, so why is it still there?

Oh well..

I just tried creating a new document to demonstrate the problem, but
it's not there it seems. I did manage to get a segfault though, when
changing between documents via the Document menu. Here's the console
output: (I've reported this in another post but it was more "controlled"
circumstances here)

Sorry, you have found a bug in LyX. Please read the bug-reporting
instructions in Help->Introduction and send us a bug report, if
necessary. Thanks !
LyX: Attempting to save document /home/user/missing-brackets.lyx
  /home/user/missing-brackets.lyx.emergency
  Save seems successful. Phew.
Bye.

Try again: LyX still finds a } in math parse that it doesn't like, I
hoped it would go by saving after loading but it was copied to the
output again.

OK here's a file to look at - it's something to do with the subscripts.
It's possible that either the on-screen or DVI are correct, but they are
different so I would think that one is wrong.
