"The series of earthquakes which have struck Manchester could last for
        years, experts have revealed."

Which is nothing more than they deserve.

"The warning comes as another tremor hit Manchester on Wednesday
taking the number of quakes to shake the region to 19."

So there are now enough to form a Rubgy team in the Junior Rugby
competition.

"The epicentre is in Manchester city centre..."

Just grabbing for more headlines after feeling themselves the centre
of the Commonwealth universe recently. Just fade back into obscure
notariety and be quiet Manchester.

"...measured 2.8 on the Richter Scale."
"The first earthquake...measured 3.2 on the Richter scale"
"the biggest tremor to hit the area so far - measuring 3.9 on
        the Richter scale."

Farts. That's all they are. Either that or the alien invaders
(dragons?) that have lain dormant under Manchester for centuries have
been roused from their slumber and are now burrowing their way out.
Boy are they in for a surprize!

These quakes aren't any bigger than the mine blasts experienced 2 or 3
times daily in places like Mt. Isa (where I grew up and worked for a
time). So the crockery rattles a bit on the mantlepiece, big deal, it
just shakes some of the dust free.

That's not news. When the earthquakes start blotting out the sun then
you can start worrying.

Allan. (ARRae)

P.S. My theory is that it is just a joint promotional stunt between
the Manchester Tourism Board, the Manchester University's Physics
Department's earthquake prediction group who want to host the next
Geodynamics Conference and "Disaster Area" a thrash-metal, punk,
jazz-fusion band named after the group from the Douglas Adams series:
"Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy."

But I could be wrong.

P.P.S. Almost forgot: :P
