I contacted the maintainer of preview-latex debian package asking him to lessen its dependencies (it depends on emacs21). The latter contains files under > /usr/share/texmf and the former depends the latter. And lyx 1.3.0 > depends the latter. For me this is a good solution, and I think that it is correct that lyx depends only on /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/preview/ files, which in version 0.7.3 are: preview.sty prauctex.def prauctex.cfg prshowbox.def prshowlabels.def prtracingall.def prtightpage.def prlyx.def Am I right? I really would like to have instant preview without the need for emacs21... Regards, Joćo.
