which I have added a few weeks ago :-( (to fix this bug: http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394) > That button disables all other Float placement buttons in the dialog. > Moreover, disabling *all* placement buttons (including the Default) will > automagically enable the Default upon reopening of the dialog. > > So, the Default button is redundant and confusing. Correct? No. It is confusing that default is chosen if you select nothing, because default means e.g. tbp for figure floats. > My new layout looks as attached. > > 1) Simply do not select any of the placement buttons, for the Default > behaviour. 2) Either select one of four ("Here, if.." to "Page of floats"), > or select "Here, definitely". > 3) If one of those four is selected, then enable "Ignore internal rules". > (By the way: what means, "ignore internal rules"?) It is the "!" in LaTeX terms. Internal LaTeX params, which are influencing the settings, will be ignored. > (2) and (3) should be implemented with a better button disable/enable > policy than we have now. What special problems do you have with that policy? It is very clever IMHO. Jürgen. BTW: There is still a patch pending for a float bug in 1.3.0, which is fixed in 1.2.1 http://bugzilla.lyx.org/attachment.cgi?id=207&action=view
