This is a FreeBSD user speaking :). On ALL FreeBSD systems, python is installed as "/usr/local/bin/python". With the LyX-scripts' first line being "#!/usr/bin/python", this garantees failure on FreeBSD; and possibly other OSes with this setup. How to remedy this? Something should be done to avoid such a hardcoded, failing python path in the scripts, ignoring that python could be installed somewhere else! Could a Makefile in lib/scripts modify the topmost python lines, according to where python is actually installed? Regards, Rob.
