Type this in you xterm/konsole: cat >> ~/.bashrc alias lyx="lyx -geometry 800x600+0+0 " source .bashrc lyx Press <ctrl>-o Warning Couldn't open directory! No such file or directory Dismiss lyx: SIGSEGV signal caught Sorry, you have found a bug in LyX.
