Hi,

I would like to continue with making the xforms dialogs much less bulky and
add the proper resize/gravity attributes, so that resizing the dialogs finally
makes sense. The latter is possible due to Jean-Marc's patch to the fdesign
source code.
(Without this patch, fdesign destroyed all resize/gravity settings, which may
be the reason why this currently is not working in LyX!).

Jean-Marc's patch most probably makes it into 1.0.0rc5; so soon everybody
will have a more reliable fdesign app!

Furthermore, the facelift of the dialogs will focus on reducing the height
of widgets (NOT width, so that translations with longer keywords still fit in)
and rearranging few widgets inside the dialog to allow the proper resize policy.

As an example, a patch to the Cross-reference dialog is attached, together
with a screenshot of the old and new look.

May I give this a go? I really believe that LyX's present xform dialogs claim
too much space. My goal is to make the dialogs smaller and prettier with a
decent resize policy.

Regards,
Rob.

PS: How come that certain dialogs, such as Citation-Reference, are unresizeable?
How is that done? Also the tabbed dialogs are unresizeable, but I can remember
resizing those may crash LyX due to an xforms bug (when the dialog is too small
to show all the tabs labels). Is that so?
