Dear developpers, I compiled lyx-1.3.0cvs under SuSE 8.0 and RedHat with xfroms 0.89 and 1.0RC4.
I tested the instant preview funnction on some textes. With small textes I have no problems. But I have a longer text with the following behavior of lyx and X-Windows: I start lyx-1.3.0cvs in a terminal. The text is opened and displayed (without preview) correctly. In the terminal a latex run is done on 0lyxpreview.tex. Dvipsk 5.86 generated 0lyxpreview.ps. Many ppm-files and a 0lyxpreview.metrics file are generated in a subdirectory of the tmp-directory. For short textes, now starts the recplacing of the math-formulas by the preview pictures. For the longer text (about 960 math formulas), sometimes the head of the lyx-windows changes the colors, the buttons disappear. After some seconds, the X-Windows collapses. However, sometimes preview latex works with these textes, too. So I don't believe that it is an error in the text, maybe a memory error? Norbert
