You are searching in the wrong place. I, for instance, have some
religious aversion against using C when C++ could be used as well...

And backwards compatibility is certainly a nice thing, but I won't ever
write things like

again. At least not as part of a fun project.

"magnitude_s_" is something that I'd associate with a constan factor of 100
