Sorry, I misinterpreted my observation. But there's still something
funny here. What happened was this:

I had a graphics file choosen in the Graphics dialog and carefully had
selected the boundingbox values. For paper-submission purposes, I later
renamed this file and thus had to select the new name also in the
Graphics dialog.
Now this graph inherited all settings from its 'predecessor', with the
only exception the bounding box settings. For example when I set
"Draft mode", "Don't unzip" or "Additional LaTeX options", will all
persists when changing the file name.

However, for some reason, the boundingbox values are reset in that case.
Is this intensionally? Probably. I realize that it's not trivial to decide
what the default behaviour should be; inherit or reset.

Boundingbox values are, however, behaving quite differently from all the
other Graphics-dialog-settings. Did you realize this?
