Hello,

I hope you are the right person to contact (LyX 1.2.0pre4
  is not in the buggzilla yet?).

While running LyX 1.2.0pre4  I inserted an eps graphics which didn't 
show on the Lyx window. Instead I got a frame with the error:

        Error scaling etc

In the shell terminal I got the error:

        Error creating pixmap from xpm_image 'XpmColorFailed'

P.S.

When compiling the file, I do see the graph in ghostview.
