Especially the fact that activating scalable fonts makes a difference is scary :) What I think is that using a different font gives different metrics, and that those different metrics triggers some off-by-eon or whatever bug in lyxtext stuff. But this is not very helpful. If you have time, you may want to try our valgrind http://developer.kde.org/~sewardj/ which may be able to tell you more about what happens. Unfortunately, I do not have any first hand experience with it, so I cannot tell you how to operate it. JMarc
