Hi,

For not so relevant reasons here, I tried to display within LyX
the images in the lyx-devel/images directory.
However, LyX fails to do this smoothly, to my surprise.

E.g. when I try to select lyx-devel/images/deco.xpm, LyX says:

---------------------------------------------------------------
The XPM file contains silly colors, an example being "#BEFBBEFBBEFB".
This was cropped to "#BEFBBE" so you can see something!
If this file was created by ImageMagick's convert,
then upgrading may cure the problem.
Received unhandled X11 event
Type: 0xd Target: 0x5000064
Received unhandled X11 event
Type: 0xd Target: 0x5000064
---------------------------------------------------------------

Any idea why this message appears?

When I try to select lyx-devel/images/deco.xbm, LyX receives an
error message from ImageMagick's convert:

---------------------------------------------------------------
convert: XBM file is not in the correct format
(/home/lahaye/lyx-devel/images/deco.xbm) [No such file or directory].
convert: Missing an image file name.
---------------------------------------------------------------

I'm using ImageMagick 5.4.1, which is faily recent.
Convert supports XBM files, but not the format used here.
Does XBM allow different formats?
What's wrong with the XBM format in lyx-devel/images?

I know ImageMagick's convert is not ideal, but it's nevertheless
choosen to be LyX's converter by default.

Well, I would expect that LyX should be able to load at least its
own image files.......

Cheers,
Rob.
